Eddie Jordan at the World Lacrosse Championships

Multi millionaire and Formula 1 supremo, Eddie Jordan, attended the World Lacrosse Championships in Manchester today.

Jordan's Son, Zak, is a key member of the Irish squad taking on Scotland in a bid to reach the semi-finals.

Zak first took up the sport whilst at University in Ireland and has risen through the ranks to now represent his country at the Championships, impressing his father. 'He picked up this crazy sport called lacrosse.  We were kind of confused to what the rules were like, and then he suddenly got himself on the Irish team, which was really great'.

It is gearing up to be an intense game as both teams have scored 4 wins and 0 losses so far in the Championships.

Surprisingly, this is the first time Jordan has seen his son play in an international tournament. Jordan enjoyed watching his first lacrosse game yesterday as Ireland beat Sweden 12 - 7.

'There has been all sorts of different events where I have wanted to see him play before and it just didn’t happen and I had to do something else. Actually it's different seeing him so serious, because you naturally have to be serious about sport, but I’m really quite enjoying myself its great.'

However, the former Formula 1 team owner is disappointed that he may miss the final, should Ireland continue their success in the tournament. 'I can't stay much longer which is a pity, as we have the German grand prix this weekend but my kids are all here and they are having fun.'
