World's best go head to head in Manchester

The world's most exciting pro-lacrosse teams will show their skills at the final of the World Lacrosse Championships on Saturday (24th July).  Canada and USA will face each other in the finals of the 2010 World Lacrosse Championship in a much awaited final.

Between their two squads, they feature an all star team of professional players, with players such as Paul Rabil (USA), the world's fastest shot, Ned Crotty, Ryan Powell, Geoff Snider and Zack Greer.

It will also be a momentous occasion for Canada's Goalie, Chris Sanderson, who was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in 2008 and has amazingly overcome the odds to help Canada get to the final.

Historically, Canada and the USA have always dominated field lacrosse, having had players who play professionally in major leagues in their countries.

In their other meeting in the tournament, Canada, who are defending champions, snatched a dramatic 10-9 victory in front of a sold-out crowd at the Armitage Centre in Manchester. The USA want to revenge that defeat and lift the crown.
Canada will be weary of resting on their laurels however, as they had to bounce back from a round robin defeat in the 2006 World Lacrosse Championships to beat the USA in the finals.

Tickets for the Finals are available on the door on the day, priced at £40, with concessionary tickets charged at £28.
