In 2006 a men’s squad was added to the existing women’s 1st and 2nd and mixed teams, with a second men's team being developed who will play in the national league on a saturday.
The women's team are a member of the Northern League playing
fixtures against Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Stockport, etc. They
continue to play regular matches against Midland’s schools,
universities and clubs. The season culminates in the English Lacrosse
Association Clubs and Colleges Tournament in March. BLC won the First
Team Trophy in 2001, and the Second Team Trophy (jointly with
Nottingham Club) in 2006.
The men's team are a member of the North of England Men's Premier League and play teams such as Leeds, Stockport, Oldham.
The lacrosse club liaises with the local community in attempts to
develop lacrosse within schools; we also actively raise funds and are
planning some great events this coming year. We aim to achieve focus
sport recognition within the coming years.
